My Favourite Design Blogs
Anyone that has their own blog is more than likely a reader of other blogs – it is definitely an addiction. It comes with the territory though! So I thought I would write about the my favourite blogs and what I like about them. In the ever growing bloggersphere it is impossible to follow every good blog, so in my opinion you need to pick a few good ones and roll with them. These are the ones for me.
Creative Opera Design Blog by Manda Szewczyk
This is my personal favourite at the moment! I think that it has a very warm feel to it and Manda, the blog author, makes the blog a lot more friendly than a lot of faceless blogs that are out there. I feel that on a lot of blogs there can be a sense of pretentiousness surrounding the blog author, but on Creative Opera I think it is clear that Manda actually cares and wants to build a friendly, creative community on her domain.
Hicksdesign Journal
Jon Hicks is one of my favourite designers, so I always enjoy reading what he’s getting up to. The content on his blog is consistently good and I can relate to a lot of the topics he posts about.
Thunder Chunky – Design, Illustration & Inspiration portal
This blog is a lot of fun, and these guys never disappoint with their posts – really good blog to read if you like Illustration and Graphic Design. The blog is managed by a group of guys based in Liverpool, UK, so the content is consistently very good and they always source out what I can only describe as awesome eye candy!
Web Designer Wall – Design Trends and Tutorials
If you are looking for a beautiful website full of really good tutorials and information about current web design trends, this is what you are looking for. Some times I enjoy going on here to even just sit in awe of the design – really cool and useful.
